God dag, we are Sval

We provide energy. That’s why we’re here.

In Norwegian Sval [svä'l] means fresh, pleasant and cool. Pronounce it with a long ‘a’, like father, and you’ll sound more or less like a Norwegian.

● About Sval

Where we came from – where we’re going

Sval, previously known as Solveig Gas, has worked with natural gas since 2011. From the very beginning our main business was to transport gas from the North Sea to Europe. Today we also participate in the exploration and development of oil & gas fields. Going forward, our ambition is to provide energy from oil and gas and new energy sources.

Bringing natural gas to Europe
Sval owns 15.6% of Gassled, the world’s largest offshore gas network. Gassled provides pipelines linking gas producing fields in the North Sea and the Norwegian Sea to the UK and Continental Europe. In October 2019 Sval acquired 13.3% in Polarled, the first pipeline on the NCS to cross the Arctic Circle, and the pipeline delivers gas to the UK and continental Europe via Nyhamna gas processing plant.

From transportation to exploration, development & production
In November 2019 we acquired a 10% share in the Duva field, and also Cairn’s Norwegian business, including a 10% share in the Nova field plus an exploration portfolio. These acquisitions confirm our ambition to explore and provide energy
for decades to come.

Solid foundation
Sval is fully owned by HitecVision, Norway’s largest private equity firm, with a total committed capital base of USD 6 billion. We have high ambitions and will continue to invest in infrastructure, exploration, developments, production and new innovative energy solutions in the years to come.
